About 300 People from 5 villages
have started an economic blockade and stopped

all coal transport from the gare pelma 2/3 mine in the tamnar block of raigarh since the past 3 days. 3rd day into the chaka jam and dharna adm Pradeep kori sdm of the area came to ask what the demands of the people are.  Secl officials were also present. The demands concerned both Jindal and secl since the false registries and the 170b cases pertained to land acquisition by Jindal which has a lot of illegalities. The environment issues including dust and water pollution, absence of green belt etc also involve both companies. It was apparent that not much had been done on the land issue as was agreed by the authorities 3 months ago when people had done a similar protest and the admin had initiated tripartite talks between company govt and people and promised that they would move towards fulfilling the demands. The secl has said that it can't give permanent jobs to the people as is their current demand as they are custodians and of the previous land grab was done by Jindal they cannot take responsibility. The sdm said that they would start looking into the land acquisition to which people questioned why nothing was done in the past 3 months. It became apparent that none of the demands  they had made previously and which the administration had promised to look into had been done. The economic blockade will continue into its forth day with more villages joining in. There is also information that fir has been filed against 6 of the protesters
